a week of thanks


In a world that never stops, I’m so looking forward to a few days in the coming week to stop.  And breath.  And above all, be thankful.  I am so thankful for my little family, and my extended family.  For friends who feel more like family to me as the years pass.  For my health, and the strides I made to take better care of it this year.  For a warm, comfortable home.  For big blankets, and even bigger cups of coffee in the early morning.  For solitary trips to Target, and the strange joy you bring me.  For turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie (really, just all the Thanksgiving good.  Bring it on, Thursday).  For a little girl, who makes me laugh and beam with pride more than I ever thought possible.

I could go on and on – and I hope you take a few moments to reflect on what you are thankful for this year, too.  It can do some pretty amazing things to your well being, and your outlook on life.  Here’s wishing you lots of good thoughts and good food for the Thanksgiving holiday ahead this week!
