Our sweet girl turned 4 last week, and we had a lot of fun celebrating! I was home for a little ‘Spring Break’ week, which is always nice to focus on the fun, and on getting ready for her party. Here is a little glimpse at our celebrating throughout the week!
A little day date with Daddy at the park
a little froyo trip
Opening a few presents at home with our little family…this girl is obsessed with Trolls!
On her actual birthday, my mom met us at the mall, and we took Corinne to Build-A-Bear for the first time. So fun! She could have taken one of everything, but of course, we narrowed in on a unicorn and named her ‘Bestie’ 🙂 I told my mom in a few years we will be coming to the mall for her birthday for new clothes. Today, I’ll enjoy the stuffed unicorn phase!
We found our favorite ‘Sing’ guys at the mall. We love that movie!
taking ‘Bestie’ on a ride
Fun lunch trip to the Spaghetti Factory with our friends! Sarah, Danielle and I used to come here in high school, and this time we came with 3 strollers, 6+ children, endless wipes, coats, etc. Wouldn’t trade it for anything 🙂
Corinne, I just can’t believe you are 4 already. Looking back at this past year, it is evident how much you have grown and blossomed. You are strong-willed, sweet, incredibly funny, and full of theatrics and enthusiasm. Can I have a little bit of your energy, please?? This year, you had your first dance recital, and your first soccer league experience. You were brave as you handled both, and your daddy and I were so proud of you! Right now, you love a lot of the new movies out – Trolls, Moana, Sing – and we love to turn on the soundtracks in the car and sing together. If we are playing at home, you will usually strip down to your panties and run around the house naked (ha!). Your favorite foods are fruit, cheese, pasta, and ‘snacks’. You definitely prefer eating small things throughout the day as opposed to sitting down to a meal! I can tell your love language is quality time and focused attention – lately you have been my Sunday morning Kroger partner, and our 1-on-1 time together has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the week.
This year, you became a big sister, and never have I been prouder of you. You are attentive and caring, and your little sister’s hero. My heart broke when you cried when she cried the first few weeks she was home. You love to fetch diapers and toys for her, or take care of Ruby while I am feeding Sabrina. I can tell that you miss the undivided attention sometimes, but you have handled the situation bravely and sweetly.
We love you, sweet girl, and we can’t wait to see you do big things this year! Always keep your spirit and your smile – they are what make you YOU, and you are so special to this world.
With all my love,
(stay tuned for pt. 2 – a magical birthday party!)
