Friday Favorites

I’m linking up with Andrea this week to share my Friday Favorites…I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited the weekend is just around the corner!

It had been FOREVER since I had read a book for pleasure, so I picked up Winter Street to read over Thanksgiving.  It was a very quick, easy read that was perfect for this time of year.  I highly recommend it!  I just bought the sequel, Winter Stroll, that I hope to start reading this weekend.  I have always loved escaping into a good book, and I know I need to make this more of a habit!

I recently bought these flannel sleep pants from Target, and I’m in love.  They are light but warm, and do not shrink when you wash them.  Yep, Brian is officially married to an old lady…laying around wrapped up in blankets, wearing flannel pants, and reading Christmas romance novels 😉

Holiday cards started showing up in our mailbox this week, and they just  Ladies, when you think you can’t write out one more address, or stamp one more envelope, just know that people love receiving your cards!  In the past, I’ve displayed our cards on a DIY card holder like this one, but this year I decided to switch it up and decorate our kitchen cabinets with them.  I love seeing smiling faces of our friends and family!

Oh, that sweet face (swoon).  Ruby has been ever patient as Corinne has turned her world upside down over the past few years.  She is the sweetest, gentlest dog we could ever ask for!  I know I need to make a better effort to walk her daily and give her the interaction she needs and misses during the day (New Years’ resolution?).

Waking up early has been giving me some “me” time that I desperately need…I drink coffee, watch the news, read a few of my favorite blogs, etc.  I don’t spend a lot of time doing this (maybe 30 minutes each morning), and some mornings are easier to get up than others, but that 5:30 alarm clock has definitely helped me feel a bit more settled and calm before I start the day.  Add in a glittering Christmas tree?  Golden.  Give it a try sometime – you might find you love it like I do!

Happy weekend, friends!

I’m loving your blog! Quick question, how did you attach the ribbon to your cabinets? I need to get my cards out of reach of a certain 2 year old ?

Sorry girl, I just saw this! I attached the ribbon with good ol’ Scotch tape, but it didn’t stay up like I wanted it to, so I took it down 🙁 It’s back to our DIY card holder next year for sure!
