Mom Life

The big mid-pregnancy ultrasound was this week, and we found out that baby #2 is a…GIRL!  Corinne has been telling us the whole time that she was getting a sister, so we shouldn’t have been surprised, right?? 🙂

I was shocked.  Since the very beginning, I’ve been convinced the baby was a boy.  I have felt different.  I’m carrying the baby differently.  I grew up with a younger brother.  Everything in my systematic brain was telling me we were going to have a baby boy.

So, after we asked the ultrasound tech to check again a few times (ya know, just to make sure), I did what I always do when things don’t go quite like I imagine they will…I readjusted my mind and thought process.  That’s life in a nutshell, right?  Not that readjusting to prepare for another baby girl was that hard…we are pros at little girls, and I have loved every last thing about raising Corinne thus far.

Later that morning I drove to work after the appointment, and tears welled up in my eyes as I thought about all the beautiful things we will get to experience again with baby girl #2…

Yep, another baby girl will do just fine.  We are so thrilled to grow our family and add a new little personality to our clan…I’ll never get over how blessed we are.  We are so excited to experience the adventures to come this year!
