As we approach Thanksgiving tomorrow, there is so much I have to be thankful for this year. I always love how this time of year is a time for celebration, but also a time for reflection of the past year. It is very safe to say – 2016 has been good to us. Our little family has each other, our health, and another sweet brunette girl to call our own. As I reflect on all of that, my mind immediately goes here:
Our gifts do not go unnoticed to me, and this week, I choose to be thankful for the people that surround me daily, and the chaos this season brings us.
This year I am thankful for the nights of broken sleep, the constant wiping of snotty noses, and the sass that we endure along with the sweetness. I’m thankful for the opportunity to spend time at home with both of my girls – during both the hard moments and the awesome ones. Simply, I am thankful for these two sisters who make me one lucky mom.
I am thankful for this sweet 3-year-old smile, that can quickly help me forget the toddler-induced drama and meltdowns. I’m thankful for the little person she is becoming, the hilarious things she says, and the spirit she brings to our home.
I’m thankful that we were blessed with this beautiful and cuddly darling this year. I’m thankful for her sweet baby smells, the way her forehead wrinkles when she stares at me, and the opportunity to watch her grow and develop into her own little person.
I’m thankful for a husband that jumps right into the madness when he gets home from work, and who sends me off for some solo time when he can see I need it. Together, we are a family, and these are the days that I dreamed of when I used to picture what having a family would be like.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you – I hope you can find things in your life to be thankful for, and I hope you have some great home cookin’ this week!
