independence weekend

We were blessed with such a great long weekend.  It didn’t feel like a typical July 4th weekend because of the weather, but we had a great time with our family and friends!  Brian had to work Friday morning, so Corinne and I enjoyed a yummy country breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  Apparently I’ve acquired a huge soft spot as well, because I let her take home this darling ballerina doll.  How could I resist?!

She wasn’t happy at all, right??

Later that afternoon, we made the trek down to Brown County for our friend Jason and Emily’s wedding.  It was the sweetest wedding, set in a beautiful stone shelter in Brown County State Park.  The weather was amazing, and we had a great time reconnecting with old friends!

The next morning we had a great breakfast together, then headed just a little bit north to my dad’s house on Lake Cordry.  I can’t tell you how much I love this place…fresh air, beautiful water, and quiet.  We don’t make it down here often enough!

Corinne and Ruby had stayed the night before, so they were all settled in by the time Brian and I got there.  They love the lake house just as much as I do!

We spent the day taking little trips out on the boat, resting, and eating.  My kind of day!

We left the lake after dinnertime to head back to Indy.  Corinne sure does love her time with her Papa and JoJo!

The rest of the weekend was so easy going.  A trip to our new Costco, running errands, and a trip to the movie theatre to see Finding Dory.  The weather the last few days has been so weird!  But, I won’t complain…the quiet time has been good for our souls.

I finished the weekend catching up on some Fixer Upper…love, love, love!  Can we have weekends like this every week?!
