Today might as well be called “What Kelley Loves”, because we’ve got our first guest blogger today! My friend Kelley is kind-hearted, fiercely loyal, and a wonderful mom to her son, Tristan. And her style? This girl has got it together, friends. Since I don’t have any sons, I can appreciate little boy fashion, but I know I’m no expert. I’m excited to have Kelley here today sharing some of her fave spring trends for the little men in your life!
Greetings Everyone! Kelley here (aka Mama K or Tristan’s Mom) and my good friend Tara has provided me the opportunity to guest blog on The Holcomb Home to provide a different perspective into BOYS FASHION!
People in my life have used the term “fashionista” in my presence but truthfully I just like finding that perfect outfit that can give you that boost of confidence to separate yourself from the pack and be noticed. In short, yes, clothes have always been a fun hobby in my life.
When we found out that we were expecting a baby boy a (tiny tiny) part of me grieved not being able to have a little mini-me by my side to dress up in the latest pink, ruffled tutu, micro-fashion, haute-couture looks. But BOY I was wrong…
As it turns out there is a new movement of specialty children’s fashions aimed toward boys that moves away from plain T-shirts with trucks and puppy dogs printed on them. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but why let the girls have all the fun when it comes time to dressing up for the Christmas recital, picture day at school or just a regular Wednesday?
But it is March and I can feel the buzz of spring in the air which means the “Super Bowl” of toddler fashion is near: EASTER SUNDAY. Going to church on Easter is like New York Fashion Week for those that wear a size 5T and under. It’s the best. I absolutely love seeing those little ones wearing their brightest and best before the big egg hunt begins.
I am loving all the spring looks for boys. A lot of colorful plaid shirts mixed with tailored pants and shorts. When shopping for my own Mr. T, I love to find different pieces from different stores. Layer with additional pieces like a smart cardigan or jacket, add a classic bow-tie and maybe even some cool sunglasses. Then, your tiny gentleman will be the hit of the Easter parade!
And what will Mr. T be wearing this year on Easter Sunday? Stay tuned to find out! You can follow me and my guy, Tristan on our Instagram account: @kelbella84 and look for #tristagrams
Kel, thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us today. These are a far cry from my frills and bows comfort zone, but these mini-men styles are giving me all the heart eyes! Stay tuned next week as I tackle what is sure to be Corinne’s favorite part of Easter…the Easter basket fillers!
